One Wee Cottage

Accessibility & Mobility Information

A comfortable, single-level stay

We want our cottage to be welcoming and comfortable for as many guests as possible, including older guests and those with limited mobility.

The cottage is arranged entirely on one level for guests, with no need to use stairs inside the accommodation. While we do not currently hold formal accessibility accreditation, we are pleased to provide detailed information about access, room dimensions and the mobility aids available, so that you can decide whether the cottage is suitable for your individual needs.

Every guest’s requirements are different, so if you have any questions about access or would like further measurements or information before booking, please get in touch. We are always happy to help.

Arriving at the cottage

  • There are multiple parking spaces available.
  • From the parking area, there are approximately 10 steps to the front door.
  • There is one step into the cottage through the wide front entrance.
  • The main entrance door measures approximately 91.4 cm wide x 204 cm high.
  • The cottage is all on one level for guests; the upstairs area is not accessible to guests.

Doorway measurements

For guests who use a wheelchair, walking frame or other mobility aid, the following measurements may be helpful:

Mobility aids

We can provide the following mobility aids upon request, subject to availability:

  • Shower chair
  • Over-the-toilet chair with arm supports

If you require a particular type of mobility aid, please contact us before your stay and we will be happy to discuss what may be suitable.

Bathroom information

The shower room has a doorway measuring approximately 82 cm wide. We appreciate that bathroom access and shower dimensions can be particularly important when planning a stay. For this reason, we are happy to provide additional measurements and photographs where helpful, so that you can assess whether the facilities meet your individual requirements.

Please note: The cottage does not have a walk-in shower and therefore may not be suitable for guests who require step-free shower access.

We’re happy to help

We understand that accessibility needs are personal and that a small detail can make a big difference when choosing somewhere to stay.

If you are unsure whether the cottage will work for you, please don't hesitate to contact us before booking. We can answer questions about access, room layouts and facilities and, where possible, provide additional measurements or photographs.

Our aim is to give you the information you need to make an informed decision and enjoy a comfortable stay.
